Welcome to the Tuesday Columbus Support Group! Leader: Kathy Ives Surgery Date:  July 2000  (gastric bypass) Also several reconstructive surgeries Positive Changes:  Time with family and being off insulin 3 days after surgery and all blood pressure medications.  I have my life again. Support Group Benefits:  I attended support groups before surgery to help me make up my mind.  I saw the different way the people that had surgery held themselves and acted.  I knew that I wanted to be a part of the support group and help others.  Hobbies:  Volunteering for Barix and Bichon Frise dog rescue-I have 8!  I also collect quilts, Boyd Bears and anything with angels.  I am an 11 year cancer survivor.
